PET OWNERS! PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS!
The rise of the animal rights movements and groups such as PETA and the
Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) during the 90's has led us
to a time where the right of American citizens to keep animal companions
is being threatened. 2009 in particular saw a wave of anti-pet legislation
hitting Congress and internet blogs, and much of this legislation has been
backed by anti-pet animal rights groups. The vast majority of the
pet-owning American public have no clue as to the threat that these
groups represent to us and our way of life. We will be using this page to
provide informative links and updates on the struggle for Pet Owners
Rights. You won't have to take our word for it that these groups are out
to destroy pet ownership-- they say it outright, on their own websites!
Proof of the Anti-Pet agenda of Animal Rights Groups:

Keeping wild and exotic animals as pets threatens public health and safety as well as animal welfare. Wild animals can attack,
they can spread disease, and the average pet owner cannot provide the care they need in captivity.
"

One of the most interesting things to note is the way HSUS begins its attack by drawing a line between "exotic pets" and your
more typical house pets. There are numerous reasons for this, beginning with the fact that it is more difficult for people to
empathize with the plight of snake lovers than dog or cat lovers. Not many people like hugging a cool, scaley python-- but some
of us do! The HSUS is driving a wedge between the "odd balls" of the pet owning American public and their more traditional
counterpart. We as pet owners cannot allow this to happen- divided we fall!

The HSUS campaign against "horse slaughter." READ MORE

Excerpt:
"
Purchased by slaughterhouse middlemen at auction, horses are shipped long distances in cramped trailers without food, water,
or rest. The majority of these horses are young, healthy animals who could go on to lead productive lives with loving owners.

We have made ending the slaughter of America's horses for human consumption one of our top priorities
."

This was one of the first "victories" won by animal rights groups in the US. The initial ban shut down all US slaughter houses.
On the surface, this seems like a good thing to an animal lover. The problem is that this ban effectively reduced the value of
horses that are no longer sound and capable of being ridden to $0. If you are a person who is working with horses solely for
monetary reasons, there is absolutely no reason for you to hang on to an animal that is worth nothing. So instead of an "inhumane
death" in a slaughter house, where at least the meat would be used, these individuals are taking horses out into the desert and
wildlands of the US and releasing them to either starve to death or be killed by wild predators. Sounds like a much better
option, huh??

Many people confuse the HSUS with their local humane society-- those hardworking groups that provide
care and shelter to homeless or abandoned animals. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THAT MISTAKE-- the
HSUS is an animal rights organization with a thinly concealed anti-pet agenda!
ANTI-PET LEGISLATION OF 2009
2009 has been a year of tremendous effort on the
part of anti-pet groups like the HSUS and PETA. It
has seen numerous attempts at reducing the rights of
responsible, law abiding pet owners come and go. Some
have passed, others have been beaten by pet owners
standing up for their rights. The two most notable bills
were HR669, the non-native species ban, which would
have affected most pet owners whose pets are not
considered "domesticated" and S373, the Python Ban.
The increased level of attacks this year also provoked
the rise of two groups intent on organizing themselves
to fight anti-pet legislation wherever it rears its ugly
head. If you are a pet owner, please look at these links
and consider donating to the USARK or NatPet. Even
$20 can help, and it's really a paltry amount of money
compared to the satisfaction and joy that our pets
bring us each day.

Please note that the National Pet Association is run by
Adam Wysocki, who is determined to provide
representation for ALL pet owners. This is the only
group in exsistence that is looking out for the rights of
dog owners... AND snake owners... AND parrot owners.
Please consider donating to Adam's very worthy cause!
