Welcome to Our Reptile Room!
We decided to snap a few photos of our reptile room. We live in a two bedroom 1940's townhouse in a blue collar suburb of Baltimore, MD. We've got our reptiles more or less confined in the basement, although a few are scattered elsewhere in the house: Tank, our male beardie, is in the living room, while Kim Lei, the Vietnamese blue beauty snake is in the bedroom. We also utilize a part of the bedroom as our quarantine area. The rest of the reptiles are in our basement, which has a small 1/2 bathroom and a very convenient utility sink. The washer also makes a nice place to spread out our grey fur to take our formal photos for iHerp. Here are some photos of the arrangement, which changes quite frequently.

This is the first series of racks you see as you descend the stairs into the basement. The racks to the right are 66 quart Animal Plastics racks. In the center, we have our 28 quart juvenile colubrids rack, and to its left, a 32 quart rack that houses additional juveniles.
Continuing to the left, we have our "miscellaneous" storage rack. This is a wire shelving unit from the days when we had a bunch of aquariums. It currently holds baby colubrids, a bearded dragon, and a kenyan sand boa. Also shown is our 55 gallon tropical community aquarium.

ABOVE: This is our "tween" space-- the doorway between the two rooms that make up our herp room. To the right, we have a 30 gallon viv with a blue-tongued skink and a 20 gallon leopard gecko viv. Next to it is our basic metal shelving rack with our room-temperature critters. Included on it are crested geckos of varying ages, some rodents (pets, not feeders), a gargoyle gecko and Tara's small tarantula collection (top shelf, critter keepers). LEFT: This is our stack of five 4' x 2' Animal Plastics cages. We are actually going to be modifying this stack soon. Currently housed in it are several ball pythons, a woma python and two Boa constrictors. Two of the cages are divided to house smaller boids.
